The Ultrasonic Flaw Detector UD2301 is designed for the nondestructive testing of metals, plastics, glass, composite materials, weld inspection and the thickness measurement of various products and structures.
The Flaw Detector allows the user to detect a wide variety of defects, such as discontinuities and cracks, in a diverse range of materials for semi-finished products and welded joints. It can also measure the depth and coordinates of defects, the thickness of products, the speed of propagation and the attenuation of ultrasonic vibrations (UT) in the material.
The Ultrasonic Flaw Detector is a compact unit of optimal size for performing testing in tight spaces. The device has a colour display with high resolution (320*480 pixels), which significantly improves it’s usability.

Features of the Ultrasonic Flaw Detector Novotest UD2301

The picture on the display of the device can be rotated into 4 positions. This allows the user to operate the device in any position allowing it to be customised for both left and right handed users. The Instrument can be used in portrait and landscape orientations.
The ultrasonic flaw detector can be used:

  • to test the quality of welds and the base metal of products
  • to detect corrosion, cracks, delaminations and other internal defects
  • to determine the coordinates and estimated parameters of defects such as discontinuity and cracks. Also, the uniformity of material in products such as metal, plastic, composites and other materials
  • to measure the thickness of products

The Flaw Detector is equipped with 3 standard type AA rechargeable batteries but can also operate with non-rechargeable batteries. Using a standard type of battery means that the device can be used in almost any conditions. If there is no way of charging the batteries, standard spare batteries will need to be available.

The Flaw Detector allows the user to undertake tasks such as the thickness measurement of thin products and large-sized casting flaw detection. Having sealed housing with rubber protective strips makes the Ultrasonic Flaw Detector UD2301 ideal for using in a workshop and in field conditions with high humidity, dust, etc. The device has a frost-resistant display that means it can be used in all climatic conditions.
